The curricular internship in veterinary practice was carried out at the Ane+ veterinary clinic in the city of Jaboticabal, SP. The student was able to follow the routine in a veterinary clinic in the areas of veterinary medical and surgical clinic, from appointments, hospitalization, surgical procedures and intensive care. What gave the academic the possibility to apply what was learned during graduation in practice and, thus, maximize the knowledge obtained. Thus, it can be said that the curricular internship period was of fundamental importance for training with excellence, directly contributing to the academic's professional level, as well as improving their personal and interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, in this present work, a case of interest is reported: a feline, male, domestic short hair, 10 years old, with complaints of apathy and anorexia for 5 days. This patient, about a month after the first visit, still with intermittent phases of anorexia and apathy, underwent an ultrasound evaluation that showed a possible mass in the pancreas. An incisional pancreatic biopsy was performed on it and the samples, collected and sent for histopathological evaluation, were conclusive for acinar carcinoma of the exocrine pancreas. The patient was then referred to the oncology sector of the clinic, and began treatment with toceranib, a promising receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor for neoplasms of this type. The patient has been doing well and stable to date, with about nine months of survival after diagnosis.
