The corporate governance practices corroborate the decision-making process of the management of the organizations and its main objective is the transparency in the relations between partners and investors and executives, contributing to the reduction of informational asymmetry. The purpose of this work was to evaluate the relevance of corporate governance in the world, especially in family businesses. For this, a bibliographic and bibliometric research was carried out in the period from 2015 to 2019, based on the Capes and Spell Journal Portal, and the properties related to: quantity of published scientific production, distribution of publications by magazine, productivity of articles per author, through Lotka's Law; frequency of keywords through Zipf's law, most discussed topics, Type of research, Nature of research, Approach and Method of research and finally the Type and Analysis of data collection. This being based on the classic Laws of Bibliometry.
