Resumo: Mucosal retention cysts in the maxillary sinuses are benign entities that result in duct obstruction of a seromucous gland by inflammation, infection, allergy or mucosa of the maxillary sinus, which in turn causes accumulation of mucus and cystic dilation of the gland. Being detected as a radiographic finding in dental imaging tests. This study aims to present a mucous retention cyst case of maxillary sinus in a patient 63 years of age who presented difficulty to adapt the denture higher with persistent pain in the left maxilla. In imaging testes it was found a cystic characteristic lesions treated by enucleation

Sendo detectado como um achado radiográfico, nos exames dentários por imagem. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar um caso de cisto de retenção mucoso de seio maxilar em uma paciente de 63 anos de idade que apresentou dificuldade de adaptação da prótese total superior com dores persistentes na maxila esquerda.
