Resumo: Cranial cruciate ligament rupture is an important cause of pelvic limb claudication in dogs and has a high incidence in Veterinary Medicine. As a result of this rupture the knee undergoes instability and may develop meniscal injury and degenerative joint disease. Several surgical techniques are described for the treatment, however the tibial osteotomies are the most recent ones. This review aims at comparing tibial tuberosity advancement technique with tibial plateau leveling technique, taking into consideration which one presents the best result for the patient. The selected literature includes five publications in English and three in Portuguese corresponding to the period from 2008 to 2017. It has been shown that although both techniques present some complications, they are effective in the treatment of the disease, and the choice of one or the other is performed by the surgeon due to his experience and affinity for the technique.

Em consequência dessa ruptura o joelho passa a sofrer instabilidade e pode desenvolver lesão nos meniscos e doença articular degenerativa. Diversas técnicas cirúrgicas são descritas para o tratamento, entretanto as osteotomias tibiais são as mais recentes. Esta revisão tem por objetivo comparar a técnica de avanço da tuberosidade tibial com a técnica de nivelamento do platô tibial, levando em consideração qual apresenta o melhor resultado para o paciente. A literatura selecionada contempla cinco publicações em língua inglesa e três em língua portuguesa correspondentes ao período de 2008 a 2017.
