The mass flows are movements that occur along drainages, with medium and high speeds, displacing a large volume of material and can be divided in four types: earth flow, sand flow, mudflow and debris flow. In 1967, one of the largest accidents caused by flows occurred in Caraguatatuba - SP, due to strong rains in the region (586 mm in 48 hours). The present work has as objective the elaboration of a map of susceptibility to occurrence of mass flows in the Camburu River Basin. To achieve the objective, it was elaborated maps of hypsometry, declivity, use and coverage of the land, physiographic subdivision and landslides scars. In order to elaborate the susceptibility map, influence weights were attributed to physical and anthropic factors and partial notes for each class of each factor for each physiographic unit. The physical environment factors were the type and thickness of rocks, soil and unconsolidated materials; relief amplitude; relief slope; valley forms; hillside/strand forms and textural density. For the anthropic environment it was used the use and lad cover. The main product of the work was the susceptibility to occurrence of debris flow map. With the obtained results, it was possible to observe a predominance of medium susceptibility areas. The plain is classified as low susceptibility and the most susceptible areas correspond to the physiographic units II and V
