Resumo: | Coffee was for many years the most prominent commodity of the Brazilian economy and one of the most commercialized beverages in the world, delighting all of different races and ethnicities for its pleasant taste and aroma. Trough decades the interest was not only for the taste but also for the benefits presented by him, attracting the eyes of researchers for a more detailed study about their composition, since it is rich in bioactive compounds. So cosmetology tilted eyes for this product of great commercial importance to study its role in preventing damage that affect the skin. Since coffee contains bioactive compounds it has beneficial physiological actions and potential as antioxidant to prevent photoaging. Among its secondary metabolites, phenolics stands out for its antioxidant activity and chlorogenic acids are mainly responsible for this activity by sequestering free radicals and preventing the propagation of the oxidative process. Another widely studied compound is caffeine, a methylxanthine, found in large quantities in coffee seed. In this context, this work aimed to assessing the chemical profile of phenolic compounds, antioxidant, sunscreen and toxicity potentials of the ethanol extract 70% of the green seeds pie of Coffea arabica L. with application in the development of phytocosmetic. Chromatographic and spectroscopic methods were used for obtaining the chemical profile, identification and quantification of secondary metabolites. The extract showed significant antioxidant activity, and significant levels of phenolic compounds and flavonoids, and is safe considering the cytotoxicity assay. The addition of the ethanol extract 70% of the green seeds pie of Coffea arabica L. in the formulation led to a increase in sun protection factor, showcasing an influence in the formulation of the extract, a synergism of the extract with chemical filters. In line with sustainability, this study aimed to the recovery of waste produced in the ... |
