The main objective of this work was to identify how the various forms of urban agriculture present in the municipality of Presidente Prudente relate to public policies, nature preservation and healthy eating. For the development of this research, a bibliographic and website survey was carried out, based on the selection and reading of material. Subsequently, the collection and systematization of economic, population and agricultural data on the municipality of Presidente Prudente was carried out in order to characterize the territorial scope of the research. Afterwards, a semi-structured interview script was elaborated and, after the exploratory research, three urban students were selected to carry out the information. This information occurred between the years 2018 and 2019, different experiences and practices of urban farmers. Then, there was an analysis of data and information collected from primary and secondary sources based on theoretical reflections made from the literature review. The main results of this research, from the analyzed case study, were that the experiences and practices of urban agriculture in Presidente Prudente partially contributed to the preservation of nature and the production of healthy foods. The agroecological characteristics of part of the steering crops were also identified. The impact of public policies on urban agriculture experiences and practices has progressively declined from the creation of a municipal program in the 1990s to its complete absence in the area today. It can be seen, through field research, that people who practice these activities and like their gardens, did not receive any kind of official support or technical assistance for their maintenance and/or development of the cultivation areas.
