The project from which this proposal is derived is the result of an agreement between the city of Barretos Municipal Museum and ‘CEDAPH’, UNESP/campus Franca, with funding from the aforementioned museum and merit approval by the PROEX. On it, several procedures concerning the preservation of data are performed, such as minor repairs, scanning, availability to the public and, finally, research, in a collection of papers that cover the history of the press of that municipality, since the year 1900 to 2012. In short, the project not only seeks to preserve and provide access to this rich documentation, but also produce and use, after all, a real tool and source of research. The main idea of this proposal is, in addition to the presentation of the treatment procedures in the tool "newspaper", survey and analyze the advertisements contained in the leading journals that circulated in the first half of the twentieth century in order to list their main thematic and understand what were the securities and assets of current consumption at the time.
