The objective of this study was to study the environmental and landscape effects of urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) in selected areas of the city of Presidente Prudente - SP, with emphasis on surface temperature, air, relative humidity and heterogeneity of the built urban environment. Monteiro's Urban Climate System (UCS) (1976) was used as theoretical assumption to fit the complexity and the specificities of UPA areas in the city context. Therefore, to carry out this work, it was necessary to undertake a methodology focused on the use of remote sensing techniques and procedures, which resulted in thermal and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) maps that enabled the diagnosis of the temperature intensities of densely constructed areas in relation to the least constructed, considering precipitation as an important element in the analysis of the higher intensities in the diagnosis of the islands of surface urban heat and vegetative exuberance. In addition, we opted for field analysis and observation, production and measurement of air temperature and humidity data through the installation of sensors at fixed points, in order to characterize the effects of the activity with respect to the aforementioned climatic elements and their respective relations with the urban landscape.
