Resumo: This paper presents an analytical study of the theory of perpetual peace, examining its various formulations from sixteenth century to nineteenth century, especially the Enlightenment theories of Saint-Pierre, Rousseau, Bentham and Kant, and nineteenth-century criticism of Hegel, Marx and Engels.
