Resumo: The monograph deals with the problem that AfD (Alternative für Deutschland) and PEGIDA (Patriotische Europäer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes) represent in the German social and political context, a problem that has its roots in different changes that have occurred over the last decades, for instance, the changes produced in labor laws (Hartz reforms) that directly impacted workers' living standards, mass immigration that imposed transformations in the way of living of German society and the negative effects of economic and political globalization. In this way, the return of the social pathologies of intolerance, xenophobia and racism directed against the figure of the foreigner, the immigrant, the Muslim and Islam are characterized as a reaction by AfD and PEGIDA to the new dynamics in force in the society. Therefore, the monograph discusses the way in which both created a new social and political aesthetic - in images and words - for direct communication with the public. The idea of social aesthetics as a method helps us to look cosely at the importance of the bombardment of information and messages that AfD and PEGIDA use. It also helps us to understand the use of slogans and aggressive words in their protests, a semantics that reaches the emotions, which are presented with simplicity and associated with the facts of the daily life, but with the capacity of causing fear and indignation, stigmatize certain groups of society and build consensus among individuals, aiming to obtain cultural and political hegemony

Desta forma, o reaparecimento das patologias sociais da intolerância, da xenofobia, do racismo voltados contra a figura do estrangeiro, do imigrante, do muçulmano e do Islã se caracterizam como uma reação por parte de AfD e PEGIDA às novas dinâmicas vigentes na sociedade. Logo, a monografia problematiza a forma com a qual ambos criaram uma nova estética social e política - nas imagens e nas palavras - para comunicação direta com o público. A ideia de estética social como método nos ajuda a olhar de forma aprofundada a importância do bombardeio de informações e mensagens que a AfD e o PEGIDA utilizam.
