Introduction: The searching through excellence in esthetics and function provided by the osseous integrated establishing, brought to become much more frequent the utilization of the osseous grafts. Proposition: Through of a literature review, we can discuss the homogeneous bone grafts application as a practicable alternative to the autogeneous bone grafts on procedures that aim the reconstruction of atrophic bone graft with later protetic reabilitation Literature Review: The osseous grafts utilized for correction of the osseous reabsorption caused by the early loss of the dental element, can be: autogeneous: when they are obtained from the person itself, homogeneous: when they are obtained from different individuals of the same kind, heterogeneous: when they are obtained from different kinds and alloplastic or synthetic that are industrially fabricated materials using metals, ceramic or plastic as raw material. The one that gets a better result is the autogeneous bone graft, however in reason of a high morbidity degree, amount of surgical sites, surgical time, vascular-nerve wounds and infections, it has as alternative the homogeneous bone graft.Conclusion: The utilization of this kind of graft has been a great worth when it is used as an alternative to the autogeneous bone graft, however it's need to highlight that the legislative and material handling rules must be rigorously followed in order to get succeed in bone reconstruction procedures of atrophic ridges
