Human activities have continuously influenced changes in the environment. Different types of economic activities result in varied environmental impacts and forms of modifications in the dynamics of ecological functions, interfering in the offer of ecosystem services. Considering the inclusion of the ecosystem services approach in the environmental impact assessment of enterprises, based on a bibliometric analysis of the literature related to this theme, the present study had the objective of answering the following question: what are the biases, trends and gaps in the literature related to ecosystem services and the environmental impacts assessment? For this, the method used was bibliometric analysis. The study concluded that there is a growing interest in the literature and a tendency to include the ecosystem services approach in the environmental impacts assessment, however, despite the potential benefits, there are still obstacles to this. More research is needed on interactions between multiple ecosystem services and standardization in the classification of services, so that their use in planning and decision making is more feasible
