Resumo: | Currently there are approximately 262,000 deaths from cancers of the oral cavity and pharynx worldwide, of which 83% are in developing countries. The Squamous cell carcinomas are the most frequent oral cancer, constituting about 90% of cases. The leading causes of cancer are attributable to environmental influences, biological agents and chronic mechanical irritation habits. The aim of this study will evaluate the immunomodulating effects of the drug P-MAP in experimental carcinogenesis induced in golden hamster sirius 7-12 hydrocarbon-Dimethyl Benzatraceno (DMBA) through routine staining with hematoxylin-eosin and tumor histopathology. A total of 48 golden hamsters sirius (Mesocriatus auratus) were used 24 males and 24 females with 60 days and an average body weight between 90 and 100 grams. The animals were divided into six groups: three treated groups and three control groups, with eight animals in each group, corresponding to three experimental periods in the range of 7, 16 and 22 weeks. After each time set by group, animals were euthanized using overdose of anesthetic is associated with muscle relaxant ketamine 10% and xylazine 0.01 mL/100 g body weight intraperitoneally. Grants intraoral and target organs were removed for macroscopic evaluation and later preparation of slides using routine staining with hematoxylin-eosin for examination and comparison of changes between the control and treated at different times. Morphological change was noted between the control groups after 16 weeks. The P-MAP performs immunomodulatory protective effect on the development of DMBA-induced oral tumors, because the treatment groups demonstrated against the carcinogenesis process |

Morphological change was noted between the control groups after 16 weeks.
