Hybrid obturator prothesis represents a great challenge for prosthodontists because the prostheses must serve more than one purpose, such as esthetic and functional rehabilitation, providing the correction of maxillary cleft. This defect may be due to congenital factors and also because of tumour ablation surgery, impairing some physiological functions. Therefore, the use of an obturator prothesis aims to allow patients to speak, eat and swallow, providing them some welfare. Thus, retention and stability represent decisive factors for rehabilitation success. Moreover, when remnent teeth are present, they are potential abutments to be used, but with some precaution to preserve their integrity and at the same time offering the patient some comfort. The purpose of this study was to present a clinical report, in which a 70-year-old man presenting maxillary cleft was successfully treated with hybrid obturator prosthesis, providing esthetics and functional reahabilitation and also detach its advantages and disadvantages. This way, the obturator prothesis allowed the patient to have adequate higyene and, at the same time, corrected the oronasal communication, providing him a better quality of life
