Resumo: This research had the finality to present the aspects of the formation of any geography teacher in the university of UNESP. In this form, it stands out the significance to consider the public schools as locus of priveleged moulding. So, it seeked to investigate if the class of nearly graduates in geography of UNESP articulates with all of the public schools, if they can offer initial shaping linked to the reality of the schools. Therefore, it was developed an documentional and bibliographic reserach, followed by an aplicational questionary to the students that graduated theses classes and had recent participation in the PIBID. The results lead to the fact that the university still has problems with the link between, the theory of teaching and the practise of it; between the research and the experience; between the formation of the graduate with an licensed teacher. However the PIBID brought an important contribution by enabling that such dichotomies are minimized in the formation of any instructor

Neste sentido destaca-se a importância de se considerar a escola pública como locus de formação privilegiado. Desta forma buscou investigar se o curso de formação de professores de Geografia da UNESP articula-se com a escola pública, no sentido de oferecer formação inicial vinculada a realidade das escolas. Para tanto, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa documental e bibliográfica, seguida do procedimento de aplicação de um questionário aos alunos egressos destes cursos e que tiveram recente participação no Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação á Docência (PIBID). Os resultados apontam que a universidade ainda se depara com o problema da articulação entre a teoria e a prática pedagógica; entre a pesquisa e o ensino; e entre a formação do bacharel e do licenciado.
