Resumo: | The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of laser therapy at different doses on tooth movement in rats. Forty-eight rats were randomly divided into the following groups: Control of Movement (n=12), Laser Group 1 (n=12), Laser Group 2 (n=12) and Laser Group 3 (n=12). All rats received a closed-coilspring NiTi 9mm attached to the upper right first molar through adhesive system, and tied with wire ligature in the upper right incisor. Laser Groups I, II and III therapy was performed at low intensity laser (GaAlAs), with doses of 1J/cm², and 2J/cm² e 4J/cm² respectively; continuous wave length of 830nm, 100mW outpower in 3 points: mesial, buccal and lingual of the upper right first molar. All rats were scanned by X -ray Microtomography (microCT) for evaluation in microCT: Changes in volume (1) and the surface (2) of the bone tissue and changes in tooth movement (3). The microCT analysis demonstrated high reproducibility with coefficient of correlation intraclass (0.939 to 0.995), It had been observed an significant increased of bone volume for all irradiated groups (Laser 1=3,770mm³, Laser 2=3698mm³, Laser 3=4,343mm³ and Mov=2.851mm³, p = 0.11). The tooth movement was also higher in irradiated animals. The LLLT promotes biostimulators effects against inflammatory reaction of orthodontic movement, increases bone volume and accelerates tooth movement in short-term physiological form, being beneficial to orthodontic treatment, it induces the process of demineralization-remineralization of alveolar bone during tooth movement, confirmed using microCT. |
