Resumo: Aeronautical field demands, even more, costs optimization and reducing related to components production subjected to static and dynamic loading, and exposed to hostile environments. Ti-6Al-4V alloy is used in this area due to its mechanical properties. The main objective of this research is to analyze Ti-6Al-4V alloy fatigue behavior subjected to shot peening and PIII. First, the samples have been superficially treated by shot peening followed by nitrogen implantation via PIII. For the fatigue behavior study, axial fatigue tests were carried out. In order to complement the research, microstructural analysis were made in samples with and without treatment using X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and microhardness measurements. Samples treated by shot peening obtained higher values of fatigue resistance and roughness compared to the other conditions (without treatment, treated by PIII, treated by SP + PIII). Therefore, it was concluded that, considering fatigue behavior, the compressive residual stresses induced by the shot peening treatment had a greater impact than roughness increase. In the case of samples submitted to the combined treatment of SP + PIII, the results of fatigue resistance obtained were lower than the results of the untreated condition, indicating that the temperature which the samples were submitted during the PIII treatment have damaged its fatigue performance
