Nowadays, we face serious challenges, among which, the complexity and diversity in environmental issues. Among the sources of environmental degradation, waste generated in health are an important peculiarity. When inadequately managed, offer potential risk to public health and the environment. The objective of this study was to determine the degree of knowledge of students of dentistry from an institution of the State of São Paulo on waste management health service (GRSS). The study was conducted is a descriptive and cross-sectional (or sectional), self-administered driven by a single researcher. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba. After data collection was performed by tabulating the results Epi Info 6.04. The values were expressed through absolute and relative frequencies, in the form of graphs, tables, or frames, for a better explanation of the real situation of the population. It was concluded that the students have positive opinions regarding the waste management plan, however, their knowledge on the subject are still unsatisfactory. It was found that the main concerns were in relation to the disposal of residues in group A, with 46% of errors and group B, since 30% of students do not know how to dispose of liquids radiographic and 48% are unaware of the correct disposal of films radiographs. Thus, it becomes necessary to address during graduation over matters of biosecurity directed to waste disposal health services
