Resumo: The southeast region experiences a severe water crisis and to present a solution to reduce drinking water consumption, this thesis aims to present a proposal for a rainwater harvesting system and the size of the reservoir volume necessary for the storage of the water. Water collected according to the methods proposed by ABNT NBR 15527/2007 and by the Neptune Software. The collected water will be used to supply the second order needs, such as: washing of sidewalks, garden watering and use in toilets, leaving drinking water only for first-class human consumption, consisting of food preparation and preparation, which would reduce the consumption of water coming from rivers, wells and reservoirs. An economic feasibility study was also carried out for the implementation of this system through the elaboration of a cash flow, which demonstrated the time of return of the investment, the net present value after the period analyzed and the internal rate of return

A água coletada será utilizada para suprir as necessidades de segunda ordem, como: lavagem de calçadas, rega de jardim e uso em vasos sanitários, deixando a água potável apenas para o consumo humano de primeira ordem, que consiste em dessedentação e preparo de alimentos, o que reduziria o consumo de água vinda de rios, poços e reservatórios.
