Resumo: | The organization of knowledge has a close relationship with language. In elaborating thesauri, it is essential to reflect on the influence and marks of natural language. This research aims to analyze some language-related theories whose object of study is the sign, such as Semiology, Peircean Semiotics, and Bakhtinian ideological Semiology, to understand the sign’s configuration in the process of representing and mediating reality, promoting meaning, and to revitalize it, and to recognize its condition as an informational thesaurus. For this purpose, a qualitative methodology was applied, with an exploratory nature, establishing a critical analysis based on a bibliographic review. This approach aims to assist the Knowledge Organization in comprehending the role of sign theory in the development of thesauri. |
