Resumo: The world is living a increas of its sustainable conscience, covering concepts of living at a more natural world, with less gas emission rate and waste production. this ideal of sustainability is not far away of civil engineering, that is always developing new researches about construction materials. The bamboo is had as a excelent candidate as substitute of the well consacrated materials, as steel. Its potencial come from a series of excelents mecanical properties in conjunction of a easy production, colection, manegeament and fast growth. This research brings a study about the use of bamboo "Bambusa Vulgaris", in the form of splints as a addition of bending armor of one way ribbed slabs, wondering to study their structural behavouring as possible substitute (or complement) of steel. For the progress of this research, there were performed bibliographic studies about the theme, and experimental trials in conjunction with Amorim (2020).

Esse ideal de sustentabilidade não foge da engenharia civil, que está sempre desenvolvendo novas pesquisas na área de materiais de construção. O bambu é tido como um excelente candidato para uso como substituto de materiais há muito consagrados, como, por exemplo, o aço. Seu potencial advém de uma série de excelentes propriedades mecânicas aliadas a uma fácil produção, coleta e manejo, além de rápido crescimento. Este trabalho traz um estudo sobre o uso do bambu da espécie Bambusa vulgaris, na forma de taliscas como um acréscimo à armadura de flexão de lajes treliçadas pré-moldadas unidirecionais de concreto armado, buscando trazer estudos sobre o desempenho deste material como possível substituto (ou complemento) do aço.
