Objective: know the level the knowledge level of coaches and Rugby athletes in Sao Jose dos Campos on dental trauma during sports, educate them about dental trauma episodes through lectures and informative print and provide mouth protectors to the athletes. Material and Methods: to determine the knowledge level of athletes and coaches, specific questionnaires described in the literature were used. Lectures and distribuition of printed information for education on dental trauma episodes were performed. The knowledge level of athletes and coaches is checked again at the end of the project through a new application of the questionnaire. To prevent trauma during sports practices, athletes have been shaped and was made and delivered a mouth protector to each participant. Partial results: Were analyzed 59 questionnaires previously the lectures and the delivery of protectors and was observed a need for instructions and motivation of the dental trauma and use of mouth protectors.
