O perfil das crianças do noroeste do estado de São Paulo que acessam as mídias e o ambiente virtual

Resumo: The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) is increasing considerably among younger individuals and at an early age. Contact with the internet is something that has been happening since very early among the most recent generations, who are already born inserted in a technological and digital world. This situation aroused issues, such as overexposure in the virtual environment, and the loss of privacy, which has led countries to create laws aimed at protecting the information circulating on the computer network. In this perspective, the work carried out aimed at investigating what children are accessing on the computer network, how the contact with the material found is received, whether they can lead or not to a situation of vulnerability, such as the use of alcohol, access to adult content materials, and how family mediation occurs (and if it occurs). Seeking to understand the ICT access profile of the interviewed children and their caregivers so that one can know how to mediate the relationship of the youngest individuals with a digital and virtual world that permeates our relationships, work and leisure. The work was carried out with 66 children from the sixth year of elementary school and their caregivers, in which questionnaires about the use of media and socioeconomic criteria were applied. With the analysis of the data, it is possible to observe that mobile telephones are the main means used by children to access the internet, and this access occurs primarily in the home environment. It was also noted that female students spend more time on social networks in relation to boys, about mediation, it is necessary that caregivers talk and propose a critical discussion with children, about data security, exposure and content accessed to foster the development of critical capacity and the ability to deal with what is exposed on the network.

O contato com a internet, é algo que vem ocorrendo desde muito cedo entre as gerações mais recentes, que já nascem inseridas em um mundo tecnológico e digital. Esta situação despertou questões, como a exposição em excesso no ambiente virtual, e a perda da privacidade, o que tem levado os países a criação de legislações visando a proteção das informações que circulam na rede de computadores. Nesta perspectiva o trabalho realizado teve o objetivo de investigar o que as crianças estão acessando na rede de computadores, como o contato com o material encontrado é recebido, se podem levar ou não a uma situação de vulnerabilidade, como o uso de álcool, acesso a materiais de conteúdo adulto, e como ocorre (e se ocorre) a mediação da família. Buscando entender o perfil de acesso às TIC das crianças entrevistadas e de seus cuidadores para que se possa saber como mediar a relação dos indivíduos mais novos com um mundo digital e virtual que permeia nossas relações, trabalho e lazer. O trabalho foi realizado com 66 crianças do sexto ano do ensino fundamental e com seus cuidadores, em que foram aplicados questionários sobre a utilização de mídias e critérios socioeconômicos. Com a análise dos dados é possível observar que os aparelhos de telefonia móvel são os principais meios utilizados pelas crianças para acessar a internet, e esse acesso se dá prioritariamente em ambiente doméstico.
