The aim of this research was to evaluate the maintenance of preload in different screws retention UCLA type abutment in implants with different prosthetic connections, submitted to successive retightening and measurement of detorque value. Two study groups (n = 20) were formed according to different prosthetic connections (HE Group: external hexagon implant and CMH Group: implant type hexagonal Morse cone, all connected to cylinder UCLA). Each group with two subgroups (n = 10) varying the type of retention screw (HE-T and CMH-T: retaining screw titanium alloy and HT-A and HCM-A: retention screw surgical steel). The initial torque were applied and after three minutes were measured the detorque values through a digital torque measurer. The detorque measurement were performed 10 times for each retention screws in the groups HE and CMH, being 200 detorque measurements in each group, totaling 400 measurements. The data were tabulated and submitted to the appropriate statistical analysis,that in general, independent groups and only considering the values of initial detorque, it was observed a loss of preload after application of the initial torque all screws retaining; However, the group HE with retention screw titanium alloy maintained higher values of preload after successive cycles of tightening and loosening
