Resumo: In theoretical studies on civil constructon pathologies, it is noted that infiltration and humidity are recurrent pathological manifestations. In this context, this research will initially deal with this issue in a comprehensive way, addressing the solutions to avoid the occurrence of these problems, and in a more specific study in the laboratory, will test a product that can be used as an alternative to prevent their incidence. The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of a monocomponent polymer mortar for waterproofing, by means of tests of tensile strength in the elongation, water absorption and flexibility at low temperature, verifying if the results reach the minimum required in norm. Tests of tensile strength in the elongation were performed on seven bicomponent polymeric mortars in order to evaluate the flexibility of the materials and, therefore, to compare with the monocomponent mortar, targeting to classify it as a flexible or semi-flexible waterproofing according to usual market classification. The monocomponent mortars are not very well known and used as the bicomponentes, in this way, this graduation work will target to study their behavior in relation to some characteristics. It was concluded that the mortar under study is characterized as semiflexible polymer mortar, according to NBR 15885 (Acrylic polymer membrane with or without cement, for waterproofing), as for flexibility at low temperature, adhesion and positive tightness, but does not meet how much to traction in stretching and absorption. It is worth noting that this standard refers to polymer membranes and not to polymeric mortars, but it was used as an adaptation because it contains the requirements of the desired properties to be observed, which were not found in another specific standard for the type of product analyzed. The study of the product by other standards was not considered in this work. The study was based on a comprehensive theoretical foundation on industrialized mortars, including the readings and interpretations of relevant standards. It should be noted that further studies should be carried out by analyzing other batches of mortar and other standards

The study was based on a comprehensive theoretical foundation on industrialized mortars, including the readings and interpretations of relevant standards. It should be noted that further studies should be carried out by analyzing other batches of mortar and other standardsEm estudos teóricos sobre patologias da construção civil, observa-se que a infiltração e umidade são manifestações patológicas recorrentes.
