Resumo: The white spot lesions indicates the initial clinical stage of the tooth caries, occurring mineral loss of tooth enamel. Considering the need for therapeutic treatment of these lesions, the aim of this study was to evaluate white spot lesions after application of resin infiltrant and submitted to challenges such as: artificial toothbrushing, pH cycling and artificial accelerated aging. Sixty specimens were used and divided into 6 groups with 10 specimens each: sound enamel (S), artificial white spot (W), demineralized and infiltrated enamel (WI); demineralized and infiltrated enamel submitted to toothbrushing (WIt); demineralized enamel and infiltrated, submitted to pH cycling (WIc); and demineralized enamel and infiltration, submitted to artificial aging (WIa). After the various challenges proposed, the specimens were evaluated for color change and surface gloss. Color analysis was made by a spectrophotometer and the surface gloss was being evaluated with the aid of a device that measures the reflection light. The data were submitted to ANOVA and Tukey's test for multiple comparisons (p<0.05). Regarding the initial surface gloss, there was no statistical difference between the groups (p>0.05). In relation to the final surface gloss, the higher values were assigned to the groups S and W, which were statistically similar (p>0.05) and different statistically of the groups (WI, Wlt, Wlc and Wla) in which the resin infiltrant was applied (p<0.05). However, the groups that applied the resin infiltrant, (WI, Wlt, Wlc and Wla) were statistically similar in relation to the final surface gloss (p>0.05). About the surface gloss difference, the groups S and W showed minor changes, being statistically similar (p> 0.05), and the groups in which the resin infiltrant was applied, WI, Wlt, Wlc and Wla, presented the greatest differences...

Entretanto, os grupos...Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)Fagundes, Ticiane Cestari [UNESP]Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)Barboza, Ana Carolina Souza [UNESP]2018-08-30T18:20:41Z2018-08-30T18:20:41Z2016-08-01info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesis56 f.application/pdfBARBOZA, Ana Carolina Souza.
