Lente de contato dental como terapia para solução de desarmonias estéticas em dentes anteriores: relato de caso

Resumo: Contact lens-thin porcelain veneers are minimally invasive restorations with little or no dental preparation and present thickness ranging from 0.2 to 0.5 mm. They are used in case of diastema closure, small changes of teeth' color, and restoration of teeth with small fractures. A 25-year-old man was admitted at a dental clinic complaining about the diastema presence on the upper anterior teeth. Patient was referred to an orthodontic treatment in order to provide better distribution of the diastemas and harmonious proportion of the teeth. Afterwards, contact lens-thin porcelain veneers were fabricated on the six upper anterior teeth. The present case report described the use of contact lens-thin porcelain veneer as a restorative therapy to solve anterior teeth disharmony. After 3 years of follow up the contact lens-thins porcelain veneers have been shown as a well succeeded alternative in aesthetic restorations on anterior teeth, as long as correctly planned and with material knowledge

Possuem espessura de 0,2 a 0,5 mm de espessura e são utilizadas no fechamento de diastemas, mudanças discretas na cor do dente e na restauração de dentes com pequenas fraturas. O objetivo do presente trabalho propõe-se foi confecção de lentes de contato dentais como terapia para solução de desarmonias estéticas em dentes anteriores. Paciente do sexo masculino, com 25 anos de idade, insatisfeito com a presença de diastemas na região dos dentes anteriores. O tratamento ortodôntico foi associado com estético para melhor distribuição dos dentes no arco. Concluído o tratamento obtiveram-se espaços uniformes entre os dentes e conseqüente proporção harmônica entre as lentes de contato.
