The occurrence of landslides on the coast of São Paulo is part constituent of the natural development of the slopes. The city of Cubatão (SP) has a worrying history of this geological process occurrence, as it is demonstrated by the events that occurred in January 1985. The present study analyzes the susceptibility of the Perequê and Mogi Rivers basins to the occurrence of landslides, through the evaluation of geological and geotechnical attributes (slope, hypsometry and geology) that are active in the dynamics of this process, resulting in a map of susceptibility on the scale 1: 50.000. The Fisiographic Compartmentalization was the base, in the initial stages, for the understanding of the physical environment, it resulted in five physiographic units. The analysis of the characteristics of the units indicates that the units I and IV are the most susceptible to the occurrence of landslides, with high slopes and large topographic amplitudes. To build the final susceptibility map, six susceptibility scenarios were generated, with different weight assignments for each conditioner, and different weights for each class of each factor. The class of slope 12 to 27 ° received greater weight because it had the highest concentration of scars, as well as the hypsometric class 400 to 500 meters and the lithology of migmatites. The most representative scenario was scenario A (60% slope, 30% hypsometry and 10% geology). For the studied area, it is possible to affirm that slope is the most important conditioning factor, followed by hypsometric and geological factors respectively
