Resumo: | Soccer and Futsal are both common and presents elements in the lives of most Brazilians. At school, despite the wide use as content in Physical Education classes, lags in the treatment and methodology of work has disrupted the participation of the female students. The present study aimed to exhibit the perspective of secondary school students about the practice of women's soccer in Physical Education classes in state public schools of Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo - SP. Data are collected through a open and partially open questionnaire applied to 47 female students. For data treatment, was used the analysis of content (BARDIN, 2011) and quantitative analysis, through absolute and relative frequencies. Theoretical basis used was theory of relationship with knowlegde (CHARLOT, 2000). Results show that 70% of girls have already had some experience with this sport at school. They have also showed that soccer ranked at second most preferred sport and also the second less accepted between them. The main reason that aroused interest were positive feelings, as like, think nice and interesting. The main reasons that aroused disinterest were negative feelings, as not like and not please, besides hindrances imposed by boys and the lack of female practitioners. Based on Charlot's theory (2000), positive experiences and feelings transmitted meaning to the sport for girls, which causes mobilization in the search for this knowledge and interest for it. On the other hand, absence of relevant experiences or negative practices did not arouse desire, therefore they will difficultly mobilize and the sport will have no meaning for them, causing disinterest. We conclude that intrinsic and extrinsic aspects influence the participation of female students in the practice of Football in Physical Education classes, and teacher has access, obviously, only to the extrinsic ones...
