Resumo: The multifunctional principles of the rural landscape and agriculture emphasize sustainable production, food security and socioeconomic reproduction of family farmers as a catalyst for a new productive paradigm that opposes the agroindustrial model to the promotion of local and sustainable agro-food systems. In this research we will try to discuss agriculture and food from the viewpoint of producer-consumer relations by studying the geographical, social and economic impact of the Corujão Fair that develops in a municipality of great urbanization and industrialization in the interior of São Paulo/Brazil. The initiative focuses on the establishment of a local direct selling market that aims to promote the shortening of distances between production and consumption and offer the option of diets based on fresh and less processed products
