Social protection actions, especially for children and adolescents, have been transformed into public policy and ongoing actions that run through the municipal governments throughout Brazil. These activities often rely on the collaboration of other public institutions. Thus, a project was proposed in order to sensitize minors and their relatives about the importance of health and care we should take in our every day lives, with our selves, with our families and with those who are around us and thus bringing the members of a community to grow together with the collaboration of the different participants of society. Jardim Alvorada's community presented large interest and participation with an improvement of SOHI in children and young individuals. Thus, the University fulfills its role in generating and disseminating knowledge, while forming professionals, who have a better knowledge of the reality of the population, and seek to bring real benefits of them.
