The energy theme is a major debate bias in the world in view of the issues of sustainability, resource savings and other aspects. In turn, solar energy is among the energy alternatives with the potential to apply this domestic use to industrial processes, which makes its implementation and use feasible. The objective of the work is to present the advantages and improvements that the use of renewable means of electric Power generation can bring and brings to the residential scope, with a greater focus on the use of energetic supply by photovoltaic devices. As a methodology route, the work included a bibliographic review through academic works, characterized as a descriptive and theoretical study. With the study, it is possible to perceive the magnitude that solar energycanprovidesociety, especially with the developmentof new materials, storage, conversion and distribution technologies in order to make several projects viable.
