Resumo: | Mastocytoma is the second most common cutaneous tumor in the canine species. It is characterized by neoplastic cells and abnormal proliferations of mast cells, which may have cutaneous and visceral origin. They are most frequently detected in the age group of eight to nine years and its etiopathogeny has a multifactorial character. The diagnosis of mastocytoma is based mainly on fine needle aspiration cytology, histopathological examination of lesions and immunohistochemistry. There is a wide range of therapies for the treatment of canine mastocytoma; the choice of their treatment will vary mainly by the prognosis of the patient. The objective of this systematic review was to evaluate the efficacy of different types of therapies in canine mastocytoma. A systematic literature review was carried out using 13 articles taken from PubMed, Science Direct and Google academic databases. The main search strategy used was Mastocytoma AND Therapy AND Canine. No filter by year of publication or type of study was used. The work was classified according to the scales of Jadad et al. (1996) and Cook et al. (1995). The therapies analyzed were evaluated according to their efficacy for remission of the neoplasia and the longer time without recurrence of the mastocytoma. It can be concluded that electrochemotherapy and radiotherapy therapies were considered viable for the treatment of canine mastocytoma, and their effectiveness may vary, depending on the degree, size and metastasis of this neoplasm. However, the intralesional application of hypotonic solutions in mastocytoma presented questionable utility |

A principal estratégia de busca utilizada foi: Mastocytoma AND Therapy AND Canine.
