Resumo: Conventional total prostheses are often the most commonly used treatment due to their low cost. However, the use of this type of prosthesis for many years, especially the lower total prosthesis, usually leads to patient dissatisfaction due to its instability during speech and chewing. Therefore, the use of osseointegrated implants for the rehabilitation of these patients becomes attractive. The objective of this study was to evaluate the rehabilitation with fixed prosthesis type protocol on three or four implants in fully edentulous mandibles using the quality of life questionnaire. Patients aged between 57 and 82 years old were included in this study. The patients were evaluated for the satisfaction of the rehabilitation with the inferior protocol and upper total prosthesis. The evaluation of patient satisfaction was performed before the installation of the prosthesis and one year after the rehabilitation of patients, it can be observed that there is a significant improvement in the general aspects in the quality of life of these patients. No entanto, a utilização deste tipo de prótese por muitos anos, especialmente a prótese total inferior, normalmente gera insatisfação dos pacientes por conta da sua instabilidade durante a fala e mastigação. Neste contexto, a utilização de implantes osseointegrados para reabilitação desses pacientes se torna atrativa. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar a reabilitação com prótese fixa tipo protocolo sobre três ou quatro implantes em mandíbulas totalmente desdentadas por meio do questionário de qualidade de vida. Dezessete pacientes com idade entre 57 e 82 anos fizeram parte deste estudo. Os pacientes foram avaliados quanto à satisfação da reabilitação com a prótese protocolo inferior e prótese total superior. A avaliação de satisfação do pacientes foi realizada antes da instalação da prótese e um ano após a reabilitação dos pacientes. Neste trabalho, pode-se observar que há uma significativa melhora nos aspectos gerais na qualidade de vida desses pacientes.
