Resumo: Groundwater is characterized by water that occurs beneath the Earth's surface, filling the pores or voids intergranular sedimentary rocks, or fractures, faults and fissures of compact rocks. In the present work has been featured use and taxation of groundwater in Piracicaba-SP in activities that explore and make use of this natural resource. aquifers Shark, Tatuí were identified, Itararé, Passa Dois, Corumbataí Piramboia, Botucatu and Serra Geral, according to the methodology of the Department of Water and Power (DAEE) and lithostratigraphic units. In this sense, we analyzed hypothetically capture and the annual taxation of the activities in which makes use of groundwater, demonstrating that such municipal economic activities exert pressure on underground water demand compared to domestic consumption

No presente trabalho foi caracterizado o uso e tributação de águas subterrâneas no município de Piracicaba- SP em atividades que exploram e fazem uso desse recurso natural. Foram identificados os aquíferos Tubarão, Tatuí, Itararé, Passa Dois, Corumbataí, Piramboia, Botucatu e Serra Geral, conforme metodologia do Departamento de Águas e Energia Elétrica (DAEE) e as Unidades Litoestratigráficas.
