Issues such as if the orthopedic and orthodontic treatment promotes favorable changes and what changes contribute to the normalization of the skeletal and dental relationship remain controversial. The objective of this study was evaluate maxillo-mandibular growth and tooth development resulting from orthopedic treatment considering those arising from natural growth in patients with Class II division 1ª malocclusion with mandibular retrusion. The sample consisted of cephalometric radiographs in norm of 45 ° (right side and left side) of 50 individuals with chronological age between 7 and 9 years old on the stage of mixed dentition and malocclusion class II first division by mandibular retrusion, divided into two groups - treated group (n = 31) and control group (n = 19). Then, the 45 ° oblique radiographs were digitized on a flatbed Numonic AccuGrid and evaluate in the Dentofacial Planner Plus software in 2:01. The Klammt appliance promoted the correction of malocclusion in the period of one year, through mesialization of the lower first permanent molars. The Klammt device was influential in jaw structure, moving forward. It was concluded that treatment of Class II using the orthopedic device Klammt influenced goníaca region, and kept the natural growth of the condyle and dental effects of mesial movement, were of great significance for the correction of malocclusion Class II division 1 malocclusion.
