Beans, especially common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), are one of the main foods in the Brazilian diet, with great cultural, economic and nutritional importance for the country's population. However, with the successive increases in its price in the last decade (2010 - 2020), its consumption can be threatened, generating direct impacts on the population's diet, especially the portion with greater socioeconomic vulnerability. Thus, based on the assumption of the social, economic and nutritional impacts that this increase can generate, the present work intends to demonstrate which are the factors that increase the price of beans and how this can directly affect the food and nutritional security of brazilians.
