Resumo: Mangroves are coastal ecosystems that transition between terrestrial and marine environments, found in tropical and subtropical regions subject to tidal regimes. Mangroves have numerous ecological, economic and social functions, such as: stability and retention of erosion of the coastline; fishing trade; housing and food subsidy to traditional populations, among others. Therefore, it is important to identify the spatial distribution of mangrove vegetation for mitigating measures. However, due to the difficult access in these areas, it is complicated to obtain information. Therefore, this research aimed to perform the semi-automatic supervised classification of satellite images, with the aim of identifying and measuring the mangrove cover crops of the State of. in the years 1985, 1991, 1997, 2003, 2008 and 2015. Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geoprocessing software. As a result, we show that the spatial distribution of mangrove vegetation cover is not homogeneous throughout the length of the coastline, and that mangroves have been continually altered by anthropogenic activities, causing loss of plant cover of mangroves

Estes sistemas possuem inúmeras funções ecológicas, econômicas e sociais como: estabilidade e retenção de erosão da linha de costa; comércio de pesca; moradia e subsídio alimentar para as populações tradicionais, entre outros. Sendo assim, torna-se fundamental a identificação da distribuição espacial das coberturas vegetais de manguezais, para que haja a criação de medidas mitigadoras. Contudo, devido ao difícil acesso nessas áreas, fica complicado a obtenção de informações. Diante disso, essa pesquisa objetivou realizar a classificação semiautomática supervisionada de imagens de satélites, com o intuído de identificar e mensurar as coberturas vegetais de manguezais do Estado de São Paulo, nos anos de 1985, 1991, 1997, 2003, 2008 e 2015. Usando os Sistemas de Informação Geográfica (SIG) e software de geoprocessamento.
