The present work aims to present a systematic review of the alternatives of treatment of fibropapillomatosis in marine turtles, in order to avoid their recurrence. Fibropapillomatosis is an emerging disease worldwide and is becoming increasingly common in marine chelonians, affecting all species of turtles, including five as found in Brazil, considered to be vulnerable on the red list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) of endangered species. Of viral character, it mainly affects like turtles that live in the coastlines, being a marine pollution an aggravating factor of infection, becoming more difficult a reintroduction of the animals to their natural habitat. It presents as verrucous nodules to large tumor masses located at random in the body of the turtles. The treatment of choice in the last decades consists of the surgical removal of the tumors, however the practice may be infeasible for some debilitated animals, mainly those with large extensions of the tumor masses. An analysis of the articles selected here shows specific advantages and disadvantages of the techniques of electrocautery, photodynamic therapy, electrochemotherapy, cryosurgery and supportive therapy on treatment of fibropapillomatosis, and it is estimated that is association between therapies to provide greater efficacy with minimal lesion recurrences; However, new studies on therapeutic alternatives should be performed
