There have been a great focus on the debate about discrimination against patients with HIV/AIDS both on private and on public sector, due to high index of discriminatory attitudes to these patients from medics, nurses and dentists. Making indispensable the adoption of educative measures and the installation of programs that minimize that set of problems, to better service patients with that illness. The goal of this study was to check the frequency of discrimination that patients with HIV/AIDS had beared during contact with health support professionals in medical and health centers. There was made a cross-sectional and descriptive study on 68 consenting HIV/AIDS patients. There were reported 38 discriminatory situations which 34,2% were caused by nurses, 34,2% by dentists, and 31,6% by medics, regarding installation, 78,6% of patients reported being discriminated in public health services, 14,3% in private services, and 2% in both. In conclusion, there still is an discriminatory posture being held by health professionals, and it may be related to insecurities and fear of contamination, due to lack of training of those professionals to better service patients with HIV/AIDS, it is necessary to adopt programs that instruct personnel on improving service to patients with HIV/AIDS
