Resumo: Information Science is related to various scientific fields, including Law. The aim of this article is to reflect on the intersection between the science of Law and Information Science, exploring the episthemological nature of both sciences. The theoretical approaches of both disciplines promote the concept of the document, according to the attributes informativeness, materiality, authenticity and integrity, and can provide a comprehensive understanding of its nature.
