Resumo: Physical activities and exercises can promote several changes in the human body, both with regard to physical condition and with regard to mental condition, enabling its practitioners to have a better quality of life. It is also possible to relate the performance of bodily functions, in which there is an improvement in the basic functions of the organism and which, consequently, is reflected in the individual's self-image, and socialization, in a context in which a practice can occur through groups or individuals, depending on the practitioner's relationship with other people, then it is noted that the practice of physical activities enables scenarios for, at first, the occurrence of the regression of symptoms involved in such disorders. Mendes, et al. (2018), already mentioned that society saw the body as an object of consumption, as well as Laux, et al. (2018), said that the pressure of work accentuates the anxious and depressive characteristics of the individual. Adding these ideas together, it is possible to see that the search for leisure time and for the socially idealized body are the most common pursuits for these people, from that the practice of physical activity comes as a common denominator for the resolution of such annoyances, since it allows moments of leisure and, consequently, aesthetic changes sought by society. But its function goes beyond the external factors of relationship and social acceptance, it also influences the production of hormones fundamental to internal well-being, such as the regulation of cortisol, norepinephrine, the neurotransmitter serotonin, GABA and others. The aim of this study was to verify the relationship between the practice of physical activities and exercises and the improvement of anxiety and depression in adults. where it was possible to understand all the parties involved in the improvement process, coming from different research platforms such as Scielo, PubMed, Google Scholar and making comparisons of the most searched words by users on Google Trends. In view of this analysis, it is concluded that it is possible to promote an improvement in these issues with the regular practice of physical activities and exercises with a minimum amount of 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity, where the type of exercise that provided the most was the aerobic improvement, followed by resistance exercise. It is noteworthy that therapeutic follow-up is essential to enhance the results and for them to happen faster.
