X-ray panoramic images were analysed 2219, the styloid process size and the incidence of its elongation, being 1296 x-rays of females and 923 males, 245 patients (11%) had the styloid process. In patients of sex male 85 (9%) had the process styloid elongate and 160 (12%) had this aspect. The bilateral elongation was found in 162 (66,2%) individuals. As to age, the increase amounted to individuals between 11 and 20 years of age

Foram analisadas 2219 radiografias panorâmicas, observando-se o tamanho do processo estilóide e a incidência de seu alongamento, sendo 1296 radiografias de indivíduos do sexo feminino e 923 do sexo masculino, 245 pacientes (11%) possuíam o processo estilóide alongado. Em pacientes do sexo masculino 85 (9%) apresentavam o processo estilóide alongado e nas mulheres 160 (12%) apresentavam este aspecto. O alongamento bilateral foi encontrado em 162 (66,2%) indivíduos.
