Os Modelos DSGE no pós-crise 2007-8

This paper aims to bring the recent discussions about the future of the modern macroeconomy, specifically from the models considered as the dominant at the time presented, the DSGEs. For this, it is illustrated his process of formation until the moment when there is a consensus among the economists, in which the approach starts to be considered as a benchmark model. The problematic starts from the “flaws” of this model following the 2007-8 crisis, which could not foresee or stipulate ways to restructure the world economy. Succeeding this, are presented the major critics to the model, formulated by different authors, and giving breach to the central point of the discussion: “to throw away, or not, the model”. Therefore, the objective here is to highlight the important features of this core model and, so, to propose a way in which it could develop and be maintained relevant for the macroeconomic theory. Finally concluding with an ideal proposed by renowned economists targeting a macroeconomy reformulation and how it could proceed with its studies and research.
