Competitiveness has led companies to seek new solutions through the use of Information Technology (IT) to achieve competitive advantages over their competitors. In the logistics scope, the use of IT in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) allows to maximize the use of space and make it easier to find the products giving greater control and flexibility in managing the business processes leading to gains in time, cost reduction and customer satisfaction. This study aims to identify the competitive advantages of the use of the tool logistics operations control system in a unit of a logistics company where a dry port and also a vehicle logistics center are located. There will be a case study, which consists of the evaluation of a system's post-implementation in the logistics center vehicles to identify the impacts, improvements and gains in the activities of the unit. Also the risks and resistance in the implementation of WMS will be identified. The research method used for this study is a single case study, with data collection in the literature, interviews and site visits in the study company. The result of this study is a performance improvement of the analysis after the application of WMS, noting significant contributions to increasing the competitive advantages with the use of IT in logistics, supporting, improving the control and flexibility in the management of logistics activities
