Coastal areas are more susceptible to the occurrence of extreme weather events, which can lead to major social and environmental damages. Factors such as the occupation of risk areas, social conditions of the population, public agencies level of preparedness for dealing with dangerous events and disasters, and population risk perception level can magnify the effects of extreme weather events. In this context, it is essential to seek ways to analyze these factors together and identify risk situations. This work aims to contribute to the vulnerability studies related to landslides and floods in the city of Ubatuba SP, through the mapping of incidents recorded by the Civil Defense in the municipality, environmental vulnerability analysis based on census information, and subsequent risk mapping to landslides and floods. The methodological procedure involved the gathering of census data, which were organized and processed using the statistical software SPSS 20 that allowed the selection of the main components on the carrying capacity and criticality. Such components have been exported to the Geographic Information System (GIS) ESRI ArcGIS 10.2, which was carried out the analysis of environmental vulnerability and multi-criteria analysis.
