Resumo: Dark matter halos are predicted to be non-spherical by N-body simulations. Using data from the large N-body cosmological simulation Bolshoi, we quantify the systematic uncertainties due to halo asphericity on the determination of local dark matter density and the J factors for dark matter annihilations and decay from the galactic center.
