“Migration crisis” and the creation of the social imaginary: the need to deconstruct media approaches in light of the new migration law

Resumo: Abstract: Living with the different and accepting the difference - the scenario reported by the media regarding refugees does not represent an inclusive and less unequal panorama. Human mobility, besides being a constant and influential characteristic of humanity, is today an integral component of the world economy. In Brazil, the media reports a migratory crisis and lead the population to think with fear and anxiety, highly nutritious fields that attract a growing number of political speeches. Within this framework, this article address the theme of globalization, or of globalism and its reflexes in the migratory movement, to after verifying the influence of the media in the construction of discourses about the migratory crisis and its reflexes in contemporary society. Following, brief considerations are made on the Migration Law, Law 13,445 of 2017, and the Statute of the Foreing in light of the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988.Keywords: Brazil. A mobilidade humana, além de ser uma característica constante e influente da humanidade, é hoje uma componente integral da economia mundial. No Brasil, a mídia relata uma crise migratória e conduz a população a pensar com medo e ansiedade, campos altamente nutritivos que atraem um número crescente de discursos políticos. Diante desse cenário, este artigo busca abordar a temática da globalização, ou do globalismo e seus reflexos no movimento migratório, para após verificar a influência da mídia na construção de discursos acerca da crise migratória e seus reflexos na sociedade contemporânea. Na sequência, são feitas breves considerações sobre a Lei de Migração, a Lei 13.445 de 2017, e o Estatuto do Estrangeiro à luz da Constituição Federal Brasileira de 1988.Palavras-chave: Brasil.
