PSYCHOSOCIAL ASPECTS OF A COMMUNITY INTERVENTION IN THE SUBURBS OF SÃO PAULO

Resumo: The social exclusion of the basic rigths of a great number of people, arisen by the increasing of the social inequality, requires strategies that may contribute to the formation of active individuals in their communities. Through an intervention of interns from the fifth year of Psychology, based on the Community Psychology discipline, in a nongovernmental organization, located in the suburbs of São Paulo, group activities with parents/grandparents were developed with the objective of promoting the exchange of experiences among the group participants and guiding them about matters related to their children and/or grandchildren’s education. Through a participative methodology, institutional/community information with the parents/granparents’ life historical were elaborated, resulting in an intervention that valued the subjective experiences as an instrument to find out the real meaning of the parents/granparents’ role and of their empowerment as citizens, even revealing this empowerment as partners of the institution, searching for solutions collectively.

A partir de una intervención de los estudiantes del 5º año del curso de Psicología, por medio de la disciplina de Psicologia Comunitaria, en una organización no-gubernamental, situada en la periferia de São Paulo, fueron realizadas actividades de grupo con padres/cuidadores con el objectivo de promover el intercambio de experiencias entre los participantes del grupo y guiarlos a respecto de asuntos relacionados a la educación de sus hijos y/o netos. Por medio de una metodología participativa fueron articuladas informaciones institucionales/comunitárias con los históricos de vida de los padres/cuidadores, resultando en una intervención que valorizó las experiencias subjetivas como instrumento de resignificación del papel de eses padres/cuidadores y de suyo fortalecimiento como ciudadanos, inclusive revelando el potencial como socios de la institución, buscando soluciones colectivamente. A exclusão social dos direitos básicos de grande contingente de pessoas, suscitado pelo aumento da desigualdade social, solicita estratégias que contribuam para a formação de sujeitos ativos em suas comunidades. A partir de uma intervenção de estagiários do 5º ano do curso de Psicologia, por meio da disciplina de Psicologia Comunitária, em uma organização não governamental, situada na periferia de São Paulo, foram realizadas atividades de grupo com pais/cuidadores com o objetivo de promover a troca de experiências entre os participantes do grupo e orientá-los sobre questões relacionadas à educação dos filhos e/ou netos.
